Weekly Research Activity

Square

Independent research and creative discovery are critical to this class. Each week I’ll expect you to investigate beyond the material I select for you in order to drive your own understanding of how digital technology is shaping, and being shaped by, human culture. You’ll be responsible for sharing a post via our discussion forum that highlights your weekly research activity.

There are 10 weeks of Weekly Research Activity identified on the schedule.  Each week that research is due, you must use your curiosity and personal preferences to locate, select, summarize, and share (via our D2L discussion) two items:  (1) some aspect of digital culture that is not directly linked to academic work in this course, and (1) some aspect of digital culture that reflects your growing understanding of digital humanities, broadly defined.

Your research activity must be documented by a post made before 1159 pm on Sunday each week that it is due.  Your post must include the following components to get credit:

  1. The Name of the Thing you’re sharing
  2. A link to the thing you’re sharing
  3. A 2 sentence description/summary of the thing you’re sharing
  4. An additional sentence that conveys what’s remarkable about this thing.

Your Weekly Research Activity gets full credit if it is on time and includes the 4 required items.
